Long time no write.  So much has happened this year.  New house, Elderly parent problems & son's wedding. My Sewing studio is still revolving.  It is a mess right now, I'm so unorganized, but I'm working on it alittle at a time.  No pics of my studio at this time but I will show you what I have been working on since the last post. With our new home and location has come fun family parties, fishing groups, swimming gatherings.  fabric dying, making quilts for Quilts of Compassion.  helping out a a new fabric shop, "Stitch" and shopping, shoppping, shopping for my new pad,  Loving life, it is too short, have fun, share with others, enjoy each moment and let the little things go.  forget the past and remember it is all small stuff.

My first Shelegh Folgate's lesson!

My first real creative class with fiber art.
A 3-D Pencil holder.  I made the ribbon, butterfly, and design of the pencil holder.

Possibilities can happen anywhere, anytime, coming from anyplace!

My life drastically changed when I closed my consignment shop of 7 years.  I loved the experience, the people I met and served, the lessons I learned, but I became burned out.  All my creative ideas were gone, my hopefullness was gone, my joy was gone.  My daughter help out alot during those last months and so did my dear husband, but I just could not keep it going in this downturned economy, high rent and my bank account dwindled.  So I closed it and I am so much better.
Then I met Shelegh ,on line, through someone else's blog and found she had a group on Yahoo to work together on fabric art projects.  http://www.creativechallengers2010.blogspot.com/     Her own blog is http://www.sheleghfolgate.blogspot.com/   With Shelegh patience teaching, my life, artwork, creativeness opened up like nothing before it.  Her and I have both grown since last January.  She had an Artsy Shop, http://wwwapatchshe.etsy.com/ selling her classes on line and has a growing group.  I feel previleged to have met this special English lady.  She has a free class (and is famous now, by the way) on http://www.3creativestudios.com/       Give your creativity a shot in the arm!
If you are looking for something to spark you creative fiber art, take one of her classes.

Making My Dreams Come True: To all my many Friends

ChrisHainesArt new blogspot. Making My Dreams Come True: To all my many Friends

New Year, New Blog, New Focus!

Greetings from Chris Haines. I love comments and links, so please leave them.  I am a 50 something baby boomer with 4 grown children, 3 grandbabies, and many friends.  My heart is to take care of others; I've been doing it my whole life.  I came from a co-dependent disfuctional family but I wouldn't have done it any different if I could of.  It makes me who I am and I love me!  I love painting, dyeing, quilting, drawing and this is the year that my Art will be foremost in my life.  I plan on entering shows and magazines and maybe a  Etsy Shop.  My art is a driving force in putting it out there for the world to see or not see.  I am blessed.

January 2011, Hunkering Down to a long winter's rest- In the Bird's Nest.  Waiting for Spring Thaw!  You can design and discover many things when your in your nest.

Ice Formations on the Maumee River. This river starts in Indiana near Fort Wayne and flows through many damns to Maumee Bay in Lake Erie.  Walleye, White Perch, Catfish are the many species of fish.  Grey & Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, Candian Geese, Wood Ducks, Mallards, Seagulls and many other water fowl find refuge on this beautiful muddy river.  I love Kayaking, fishing and boating on this flowing water.

Things you can do in the dead of Winter.       Snow Dyed Beauties.

Snow Dyeing in January.  Go ahead make a mess.
My first blog http://www.shopconsingment.blogspot.com/   was about my consignment shop that I had for seven years.  But due to economy and my burnout, I closed the shop last January.  My first love popped it's head and I purchased a Bernina artista 640 and a BabyLock Embellisher and went to designing  traditional quilts, art quilts, machine embroidry, dyeing fabrics, making ribbons, felting and plain having fun bringing my artistic mind ,fabric and threads together.
